Some gyms now have an AED on hand at their facilities, what other public places do you think should have them?

Good concern, but many people are CPR certified and know when/why to use the machine effectively...

There are more and more AEDs popping out everywhere. Here's a few spots: airport terminals, airplanes, malls, industrial sites, large offices (50+ employees), arenas and sport complexes, office buildings, basically where large crowds gather. It's been proven that early defibrillation increases chances of survival.

And for Ringer, AEDs only shock when the heart is sick (when it fibrillation or beating so fast it can't pump blood). The the machine is smart enough to tell if a heart is beating normally or needs to be shocked. In other words, you can't stick the pads on your ex-wife, repeatedly press shock and hope she goes away. The machine won't let you.

The thought is good but the first time someone passes-out or faints and someone doesn't know what bouncing somebody could result in, say a pacemaker. Major lawsuits.
