My dreams are crushed?

Met with a dentest advisor today. He said that I was a waste of his time. That no one with my stats and intelect would be allowed into any dentel school. He said I should look into other careers if I want to be in dentestry, like being a lab tech and autoclaving the equipment. Im so angry and upset. I wanto to hurt him. I'm crying and i want to be a dentest but ive been trying my hardest and he said my 2.4 stinks basicly. Suport?

This dentel school is suposed to be the easiest and their class average was 3.4.

your marks aren't good enough and your spelling stinks---you should at LEAST know how to spell the name of the profession that you want to achieve... it's DENTIST and DENTISTRY.... If you WANT something bad enough, you should study STUDY and STUDY and obviously, with only a 2.4, your marks are below what the school's own average is. (according to what you wrote anyway).... So, either you have to keep trying and trying HARDER or decide that maybe a dentist is something you really might not be able to be... sorry but to sugar coat it would only cause you more pain in the future... Dental school is VERY difficult, if you can only manage a 2.4 for EASY stuff, you probably will not do well in Dental school and THAT is why the Dentist advisor told you what he did.

Why do you want to be a dentist? Is it just for the money? You must realize that dentistry lies in the field of medicine. And knowing that you must also realize that you'd need to know how to read/spell, at the very least . You're looking into an extremely challenging career. Examine why you want it so badly, I think you'll find that it may not be the right reasons.

Well, if you have a 2.4 in college, he was probably right...dental schools probably wouldn't even consider taking a look at you unless you had years of experience doing charity work in a third world country or something. If you do have a 2.4 in college, you might consider getting that up before applying.

A 2.4 in high school though won't stop you from anything (except maybe getting into a top notch college right off the bat). My boyfriend graduated high school with less than a 2.5 and average SAT scores, got into college, is holding a solid 3.6, teaching organic chemistry labs, tutoring, and just took his medical school entrance exam.

Don't let one person crush your dreams. Aim high and get your grades up =)
