How can I get the redness out of my scar?

Scar is relatively smooth but still very red. It has been 10 months since the injury occured. I have used neosporin, mederma, aloe vera and nothing seems to work. The mederma got rid of the bumpiness but the redness is still there. It was a burn from an autoclave machine (steam) injury. What can I do?

The scar, depending on severity will stay red for quite a while. They all fade in time, though.

vitamen E oil, (not the cream) usually it comes in either a small bottle or in capsules which u pierce a hole in and squeeze it out of

you apply to the scar twice a day for 100 days

its amazing stuff

I don't have any experience with a steam caused burn, but three years ago, I had extensive surgery on my forehead, when I had several skin cancers removed. The scars were red and awful looking, for a long time.

The Dermatologist recommended that I use Aquaphor and I think I used it for six months of so. With time, most of the scarring is now barely noticeable. Just give yours time...I think that's the main thing!

My scar took a long time to get rid of the redness. It was a year after it healed.

There are some specialist type of plasters in Boots that are made especially for scars. You have to wear the plaster for about 10 - 12 hours per day but it does say on the packet that the scar will disappear. They are expensive about 拢10 or 拢12 per packet. They also work on old scars, the surgeon that did a small opertion on my face advised me to use them.

have you tried vit E? get the oil capsules...i broke my jaw and had 64 stitches, and my scar was relatively purple (ew).
also, it will take a while, but it will fade with time. but vit E will certainly speed things up.
