Did You Get ANY Sleep The Nite Before Your Colonopsy?read on:?

i'm scheduled to have One Fri. 8:45 am. If You've had one- did you get any sleep at all, due to an 18 hr. prep--with the solution & tablets, taken as laxative; or were you on commode ALL nite? i am nervous and wondering; dread next 2 days! but i have decided to go ahead and go thru with the Colonospy.

i was told that all i could have was clear liquid. i determined that beer was a clear liquid and i had no problems.

Yes, I was able to sleep before mine. I started my prep earlier (with Dr's approval) and was able to be finished with the tidy bowl man in time to get some rest. Don't be nervous, they will give you something to put you to sleep for awile while you are undergoing this procedure. My Dr. didn't give me enough medicine to completly relax me and mine was kinda painful but others I know sailed right through. Good Luck!!!

I had one in June, it isnt as bad as you think it will be. The laxatives were the worst part. just follow your directions and everything will be alright....Good Luck!!! and no, I wasnt on the commode all nite, dont eat solid foods for a few days before the procedure and you will clean out easily

Eighteen hour prep---what is your doctor a Sadist?? I just had to drink 1 liter of nasty half-litely stuff and the prep lasted maybe 4 hours, finished by 8pm. Call your local pharmacist and ask what the most popular prep mix is then call your doctor and tell him to prescribe it for you--or get a better doctor. The colonoscopy was the easy part, knocked out completely.

I was in the hospital when I had mine done - hwever, I strongly suggest to follow thru with it. If your doc recommended it then there is a good reason. Better to get it done and find nothing wrong than something be wrong, never know and be in pain because of abdominal surgery - trust me - the recovery from that is more painful and longer that an 18 prep for a test that could have prevented it!!
