Will social security disability cover a person with sleep apnea? |
What if you are on all the drugs, using the CPAP, and still very sick? Can you get social security disability? Sleep adnea is a treateble disease. It is soooo common that if all people with sleep apnea got disability, American workforce would be cut by 2/3! You can go to the SSI web site. The standard for SSI is that you will not recover. Sorry. I tried myself after open-heart surgery and was not able to get it. I am doing better and working 40 hours now that at the time I didn't think I would work again. If you can start walking even a little bit to lose a few pounds this will help you sleep. At this time I have lost 20# and sleeping better. Good Luck in my opinion, no.. it is treatable, and there are jobs that you can work. there are surgical soulutions, and weight loss also yes they will cover you with sleep apnea . it's according to how bad u are and if you have been tested. but yes you can . my friend has sleep apnea and she is covered by ssi .thank you and my prayers r with you on this matter may god bless you. |
