Tues i get a catscan because i may have had a stroke, what should i insist the do?

i bit my tongue all up and my memory seems messed up for the past few days. doc didn't even look at tongue. he asked if i wan't to go to hospital . i say it was his call. he set up appt. with an imaging center tues. i just changed docs for apparant indifference. i have had a 4-way bypass and am diabetic. using a cpap. hell, i could be dying and they are so indifferent. did even look at my tongue and it should have had stitches i realize. cannot change doctors every few weeks. they used to be a little kinder and concerned. cold blooded these days. people with attitudes. what advice?

You have obviously has a 'transient ischaemic event' or TIA, involving loss of consciousness (in which, self-harm from biting the tongue is common). (Go to the local ER if still bleeding).
You should not have had to wait for a 'CT head' - you should have been offered one immediately, since the CT result determines the medical approach to management and stroke prevention treatment. You are, as a previous answer suggests, someone who is at risk from lifestyle factors (having DM and cardiogenic isssues) - and quite probably need a thorough-going, comprehensive health status review at this point.
But I'm personally not good with the idea that health care providers act as moral arbiters, or as gatekeepers for medical treatment - as suggested. You have a right to swift, appropriate care, given in a respectful and non-judgemental manner. Thats what we sign up to.

If your tougue was a problem you could have had them check it and you still can.
I think you may also have other problems that you're not putting out there so this may also be an issue.

You clearly have and have had heart and blockage problems so I wonder what bought all these effects on.
Are you a smoker, drinker or drug taker?
Many doctors these days have a low tollerance for people that self destruct and expect them to pick up the pieces.

you need a 3 D MRI .that,s how they found my blockage

Have you ever thought that you could have an attitude problem? Good Luck with your scan.

You have the right as a patient to ask them to look at your tongue and refuse to leave until they do look at your tongue. You sound very concerned and I would have opted to go into hospital as an in-patient when you were offered=d the chance.
You may have had what is called a TIA or you may well have had a small CVA (stroke)
I do agree that these days some doctors seem more intent on getting people moving along rather than spending time explaining what the option/problems could be.
I receive many patients back from hospital without eve a discharge letter! This would not have happened so often years ago.
I think it is up to you to try and get some repor with your actual GP and truly express your fears to him/her so that he/she understand what you are fearing and going through.
Usually with stroke patients the sooner they are seen , diagnosed and treated the better. Next time i would go straight to casualty.

Good luck with the scan.
