I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea in 2001...? |
I had surgery to remove my tonsils and uvula three weeks ago to make more room for airflow. Prior to the surgery I was wearing a CPAP for six years. I am still experiencing discomfort and there are a couple of areas that haven't healed yet. Question: should it take three weeks for surgery to heal? three weeks is not a long time to heal, my friend. it should have healed by now. Maybe there is some infection please check your doctor. Call your doctor to make sure but I think that it can take 6 to 8 weeks or longer to be completely healed from that surgery. It is always a good idea to check with your doctor, though. It could take more than 3 weeks - it all depends on what they did and how fast your body heals. The older you are the longer it takes for you body to replenish the cells in healing You just had a piece of your body removed, so it's not unreasonable to need over 3 weeks to heal. But if it's worrying you, schedule a check-up. Sleep apnea can be of 2 types. Obstructive Sleep Apnea leads to recurrent hypoxemia with awakening while Central Sleep Apnea involves problems in the breathing centers in the brain. Star, |
