Is it okay to breathe in thru my nose and out through my throat. It seems to work for me.?

When using a cpap machine, is it o.k. to breath in thru my nose and out thru my mouth? It works for me.

In, out, mouth nose, it's all fine. Doesn't matter. For heaven's sake, you can't control how you breathe when you are sleeping. Don't stay awake all night thinking about it - that would just trade one sleep disorder for another <grin>

The design of a CPAP system means it will always be easier to breathe in the pattern you describe with a nasal mask. Even if your mouth is open the flow will tend to come in through the nasal passage and out the mouth due to the pressure gradient.

So go to sleep, already.

yes. but if you have a nasal mask and not a full face mask you should make sure you have a closed mouth when breathing in.. that is important.
