Can you have a reaction from the flu shot? |
I've been using a breathing machine called a cpap because I have sleep apnea and I had been doing fine. Last week I went to the doctor because of bathroom problems and while I was there I got the flu shot. Last night and today I've been sneezing since I got up this morning & blowing my nose alot to. I do have other health problems. Yes, you can have an ALLERGIC reaction to the flu shot. It usually happens within the first 24 hours after the shot. The reaction could be severe with facial swelling, hives, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty breathing or the reaction could be mild with watery itching eyes, sneezing, mild aching and etc. A local reaction to the flu shot is a common reaction; your arm may get sore or even become reddened and swell in the area where you received the shot. Warm soaks and Tylenol are a good solution for that unless you are allergic to Tylenol. It's not from the flu shot. You cannot get sick from it. Did I write this when I wasn't looking? i, I can relate :) yes you can have a reaction to the liquids that make up the flu shot. Check with your doctor NO. That is a myth. |
