Can you have a reaction from the flu shot?

I've been using a breathing machine called a cpap because I have sleep apnea and I had been doing fine. Last week I went to the doctor because of bathroom problems and while I was there I got the flu shot. Last night and today I've been sneezing since I got up this morning & blowing my nose alot to. I do have other health problems.

Yes, you can have an ALLERGIC reaction to the flu shot. It usually happens within the first 24 hours after the shot. The reaction could be severe with facial swelling, hives, difficulty swallowing, and difficulty breathing or the reaction could be mild with watery itching eyes, sneezing, mild aching and etc. A local reaction to the flu shot is a common reaction; your arm may get sore or even become reddened and swell in the area where you received the shot. Warm soaks and Tylenol are a good solution for that unless you are allergic to Tylenol.
If you have reactions to eggs you should not get the flu shot for the virus is grown in a protein base from eggs.
You can't get the flu from a flu shot because they kill the virus before it is given to you. Your body builds up your defenses by destroying the dead viruses.
There is a flu shot using live virus, but that isn't used for the general public. If you get the flu it is more than likely another strain not covered by the flu shot. The flu shot only protects you from the more common viruses.
It would be a good idea to check in with your physician if you are having problems since you stated that you had other health problems. He would want to know.

Hope you feel better soon.

It's not from the flu shot. You cannot get sick from it.

And since it was a week later, you have probably just picked up a bug or have allergies.

Did I write this when I wasn't looking? i, I can relate :)
yes, you can have a reaction, you can also be having allergies to something around you right now. Tough to breathe with the cpap if you're all stuffed up, huh? It's Fall, stuff's in bloom--you've probably started your heat, or at least closed up the windows. Treat the symptoms for a few days--see if it helps. Then turn OCD on the dirt/dust in your living & working spaces. Good luck.

yes you can have a reaction to the liquids that make up the flu shot. Check with your doctor

hope this helped

peace
