CPAP Question; How do I wean myself off a CPAP machine?

I have lost a great deal of weight and no longer have sleep apnea issues. I can sleep without the CPAP machine, but sometimes just like to put it on anyway. I guess I am just used to it as a habit or comfort thing. How do I wean myself off of it and start going to sleep without it?

You need to revisit the doctor who prescribed the CPAP machine and have another set of sleep studies done to reaffirm the idea that you no longer need it.
Until you're cleared of the necessity of it by a doctor, I don't recommend you sleeping without it.

You need to have another sleep study done by a doctor to say you don't have sleep apnea anymore. It can be caused my other things besides weight. Then the doctor can give you tips on sleeping without it. or at least prescribe something to help you sleep the first few nights without it. Good luck

Take naps without it attached for a week or two. The next step, try falling asleep without it then set you alarm for an hour and install the CPAP. All, of coarse with Doctor Approval
