Is humidifier same thing as CPAP? lets say I have sleep apena, can I buy humidifier instead of CPAP?

Is Humidifier same thing as CPAP for sleep apena patients? can I buy humidifier to see if sleep apena symptom will go away? or can i use an air pumper for cpap purposes? is air pumper stupid idea to replace CPAP? is it harmful?

Noooooooooooooo, if you have sleep apnea, you NEED a CPAP machine. Nothing else will do. Some hi-end CPAP machines have a hunidfier built in, but is NOT the same thing. I have has a CPAP machine for about 5-6 years now.

can only be a cpap machine or the surgery. I tried the stupid cpap and then found out that I could not sleep because of the pressure and the noises it made in the night and so my insurance had to pay for the surgery and now I sleep good. They should let you try a cpap before you have to buy one. If the doctor or hospital does not send you home with one to try out, then you should see other doctors at a university hospital. Humidifier is not the same thing and air pumper makes too much pressure and is not oxygen so it is dangerous.

there's a reason the CPAP machine is around and not just air pumps with funny masks.
The CPAP attaches to your nose and pressurizes your upper respiratory tract to keep your airway open. Too little and it won't work, too much air pressure and you could end up harming yourself. I just had the surgery to treat sleep apnea and it was well worth the money. I sleep all night now, and i no longer stop breathing. I'm no longer tired during the day like I used to be. No a humidifier is NOT the same as a CPAP. A humidifier is a small fan that sits on the floor or shelf and either atomizes the water into a vapor to add humidity to the air, or it blows air through a filter that absorbs the water to do the same thing. The latter, however, costs more in the long run because you have to keep replacing the filters or else you end up dispersing mold into the air. Don't ignore you apnea thinking it'll just go away. Sleep apnea in it's advanced stages can be FATAL! Don't cheap out to save a buck, you'll only end up spending more, or dying. Good luck.

If you have sleep apnea you have to use a CPAP! If you have sleep apnea you have periods when you quit breathing. ...not a good thing. Sleep apnea can also cause heart problems. My CPAP is equipped with a humidifier that has several settings. Don't mess around, get your CPAP and take care of yourself. Don't be discouraged if you don't get used to it immediately. There are many masks and nasal pillows to fit all shapes and sizes.
