Is Humidifier same thing as CPAP for sleep apena patients? |
Is Humidifier same thing as CPAP for sleep apena patients? can I buy humidifier to see if sleep apena symptom will go away? or can i use an air pumper for cpap purposes? is air pumper stupid idea to replace CPAP? is it harmful? It seems like you may not have been officially diagnosed with Sleep Apnea yet. I highly suggest that you have a sleep study done if you think you have it. It's not a good idea to try to treat this on your own. If you have sleep apnea then you need to be fitted for a proper CPAP machine - period. No, it is not even close to being to same thing. The way a humidifier helps with snoring is to maybe add moisture to your breathing passages, you can but throat spray for that. A CPAP machine has a forced air flow to keep passages open and you have to wear a mask. CPAP is completely different from a humidifier. A humidifier adds moisture to the air to decrease the amount of irritation to your skin and mucous membranes, possibly loosening secretions in the process-- but nothing more. CPAP, on the other hand, involves the use of a mask to ensure oxygen reaches your lungs as you sleep. The air that flows through a CPAP mask puts pressure on your airway to keep it open as you sleep, thus reversing the effects of sleep apnea. |
