Diabetic supplies on long distance airflights? |
was wondering what the procedure was at securityfor insulin viles and needles. Have to bring a months supply, and it has to be carry on...can't afford to have it packed in cargo, and possibly get lost. As far as I know, you need to keep the insulin vials in their original boxes WITH THE RX STICKER ATTACHED. You also should have the original box(ex) from your syringes with the sticker also on it. The TSA has a website that you can check. Also call your airline and speak with them about the issue. You can't be denied lifeaving medication. I was able to carry 2 Epi-Pens (injectable epinephrene on a flight as long as they were in the original container from the pharmacy and I had a doctor's note. Best way to be sure is to contact the airline you are using. They may be able to make special exceptions for the insulin..; the first thing is you need a doctors pescribed explanation The TSA allows you to take your insulin and needles on the plane with you. |
