Help! my b/f is puking his guts out from liquor?

He probably had like 6+ shots worth of Blackhaus (blackberry schnapps) and now he's puking about 1x every 30 minutes. Anything he can take to settle his stomach so he can sleep through the night- I really don't feel like being puked on in bed.

And for you college freshman, no, he doesn't have to go to the hospital to get his stomach pumped (you only do that when people are unresponsive and their breaths decrease to <3/ min, I think).

Hi, thanks for the answers. I'm well aware alcohol is toxic blah blah blah, but not everyone who pukes has acute liver failure from 6 shots and he is conscious. I was just wondering if anyone knew a tonic to settle his stomach. Bread? Milk? Peptobismo? Sorry, I should have stated my Question more clearly.

He's gonna just have to stay in the bathroom and keep puking, there is a tap there, recommend him that he use it to keep himself hydrated, this will help the process of puking and lowering his blood alchohol level. If you have some potatoes and want to help, parboil the potatoes, cut them in half and, sprinkle them with salt and toss them into the oven, when your boyfriends alchohol level has reduced and he is no longer sick, he will have an empty stomach and will crave something with salt and fat, a couple of roast potatoes will enable him to sleep, if he stays hydrated and has some food before bed, he won't feel like hell on legs tomorrow. If he keeps puking for an hour or shows signs of acute alchohol poisoning, call your emergency service. But this is pretty normal stuff. Keep it in his mind in the future that drinking a whole lot of strong stuff very quickly doesn't equal a good night. He should be drinking slower and with less strong drinks.

Actually, vomiting is a sign of alcohol poisoning, it's your body trying to get rid of the excess. I'm not a college freshman and I know that. If you wait until the breathing has decreased, you may have waited too long. Give him water only and wait about an hour more. If he continues to vomit, you may need to take him to the hospital.

Okay, so you don't think that your bf is suffering from acute alcohol poisoning, then don't take him to a hospital. I have news for you, ethanol, (alcohol you drink) is toxic to the liver. Barfing your guts up is one way your body rids itself of it, since it's absorbed directly from the stomach. I would suggest giving your b.f. small sips of water to keep him hydrated. I would watch him for signs of ethanol poisoning like decreased respirations and lethargy, which could preceed coma.
And next time, have him drink in more moderation. Binge drinking can be just as deadly as chronic alcoholism.

anything you give him will come right back up you just have to let him be. Tell him to sleep on the couch and have a bucket and towels ready.

Let him puke it out, and sleep somewhere else. Be sure to tell him in the morning how much you did not respect his behavior.

Try and give him something to eat like bread or crackers. And lots of water to keep him hydrated. But other than that there is really nothing else you can do. For his own comfort and so you dont get puked on have him sleep on a couch or if you have a low bed and have him drape one arm and leg over and his head turned in the same direction. That way if he dose puke it wont be on you. And if he is dizzy it will help with that so he wont want to puke no more! He dont need to go to the er!!!! He is fine!!!! Just make sure that you watch his breathing.

he should have taken a chaser so he wouldnt be doing all of that chaser is a pill you take before you start drinking and it will block your drunkeness but he'll be fine once its all up

Make him sleep on the bathroom floor where he belongs.

Bundle him up even if he's hot, get him sweating and drink water.
