I need someone to talk to,my wife has a tumor, and her surgery was postponed? |
I am deployed,my wife has a tumor, she is seriously ill right now.Her surgery was postponed, because her Dr.gave her the wrong med.asprin.She been told to wait for 2weeks .And was givn some pain killers,Unfortunately her situation is getting worse to the point that she could not walk or talk to me on the phone for long. She tried to call the hospital nobody answer.I am very frustrated and angry because there is nothing I can do while I am here.My wife has always been a hard worker, now she is confined to her bed, with no help in sight,.she is with a large isurance provider. What can we do,what other option do we have to make the hospital be serious and take responsiblity?I kow there is millions of Americans go through this every day. This is a great country, and such a negligent act shouldn't happen. Please help. Thanks I work in the health care industry, so first I have to say that I feel badly all of this happened. However, Drs. are human and make mistakes. In this case, thank your lucky stars that they caught it. But the truth of the matter is that if she waits for 2 weeks, she will be able to have a safe surgery, as opposed to bleeding out her life on the table unnecessarily or having a risky blood transfusion. Telling her to take aspirin was a mistake, no doubt about it. But if her situation gets to life threatening, they will do the surgery even though it is risky. However, they must feel it can wait 2 weeks. I am married too, and I would rather see my wife wait for a couple weeks than take an unnecessary risk that could cause her to bleed to death during a surgery that would otherwise be safe. Aspirin could cause her to bleed to death during the surgery so she is going to have to wait unless her condition becomes life threatening The risks of too much blood loss are probably outweighing the risks of going through with the surgery at this time. Can I ask where her tumor is? Benign or malignant? Be strong and supportive of your wife at this time, although I can tell by your writing you already are. |
