Have you had or have the flu or know someone who does/ has?

I live in Western Ky, I have heard the hospitals are full. I have had the flu 4 days now, very weak, chills, head achs bad, skin hurts, even my the roots of my hair hurts, chills, then hot, can't eat just drinking fluids, and a few crackers, had some dry heaving. Would like to know what state you are from and how it has effected you and what you are doing to help yourself.
I am useing 1 part Lemon juice to 3 parts honey heated up...It works, for coughing and rub vick vapor rub under feet. Also Drinking a lot of water, and V-8 Juices the fruit & veggies one. Taking Bayer asprin for fever of 102.7 degrees, Robitussin DM for coughs too. Since I have pain pills and anyone who has flu needs ssomething for pain. Tramadol worked for that ask your Dr. if he can prescribe you some. I am disabled anyway and have my computer at my bed on hospital table and laying down with key board in case anyone wonders how I am so sick on computer. I would like to see how many have the flu across the U.S.A

I am in NH and several of my friends and children's friends have come down with the flu. It lasted several days (3 to 4 days) for them . They had all the classic symptoms and felt totally awful for the duration, then a bit tired for a few days after. Try eating and drinking as much as you can tolerate, like saltines, soups, juices and even gator-aid. I hope that you get well soon and wish you the very best. I can also tell you that i was at the hospital emergency room last night and it was packed. The Dr who saw my daughter for a sprained wrist said that they were seeing a lot of the flu. It took us four hours to be seen.

i had the flu last week it was terrible.. i hated it.. but you need to physically eat sometin.. anytin healthy would help any flu..

I live in Coralville, Iowa. I personally didn't have the flu, but my mom, sister, and dad all had a mild strain of it.
My sister took Motrin when her fever spiked, and that seemed to work quickly. Also, make sure to keep drinking plenty of fluids. The last thing you want is to become dehydrated. We also noticed that Deslym works well for coughs. It doesn't taste the greatest, but seems to be effective.
Sleep and rest is probably one of the best cures for the flu. You body gets run down and needs time to rejuvinate. My sister developed an ear infection after having the flu for a few days and was put on an antibiotic.
I exercise regularly and eat well, so I think that was part of the reason I didn't develop the flu.
Keep taking good care of yourself, and I hope you get better soon! Remember... Rest and fluids!
