HELP

Everybody's body is different, so what might be a good weight-loss plan for someone else might not be for you. What you can do is try to cut out a lot of sugar, fat and starch from your diet. Try to base your diet on foods that have high fibre and lean protein - for example you can eat an egg for breakfast or cereal that is like bran flakes with skim milk, lean protein + salad for lunch, and lean protein + vegetables for dinner. Try and only drink water or tea (caffeine makes weight loss harder), take vitamin and calcium pills, and eat as much fruit and vegetables as possible but stay away from things like fruit juice which are often deceptively high in sugar. If you cook, don't use butter - replace it with something like olive oil. If you are going to eat things like bread or pasta make sure they are whole-wheat. Trim the fat off any meat before you eat and use Splenda instead of sugar. But make sure that you eat 3 full meals a day, or about 6 smaller meals, and DON'T starve yourself as this is a very bad way to lose weight. Try not to eat too late at night. Also, alcohol puts on a lot of weight, so try and drink less or not at all if you can help it, if you are going to, go for something like gin & tonic.

At the same time, make sure you exercise regularly for about half an hour every day. Even if you can jog for about 10 or 15 minutes, that's good. Make sure you build up a sweat. You need to increase your exercise by a little bit every week or your body will get too used to it. Any time that you can walk or take stairs, do so. And do a few sit ups in the morning and before you sleep (if you can even do 5 or 10 that's a good start). Remember to strerch as much as possible without hurting yourself as this is good for your muscles and makes you lose weight faster.

Don't weigh yourself, rather get some measuring tape and measure bits of your body - tummy, thighs, etc. Have realistic expectations, weight loss happens slowly but it will happen.

If in the next 2 months you have not lost anything, then you should go to the doctor. There's plenty of reasons why weight is hard to lose for some people, particularly metabolic reasons. Medication or a very specific diet may be for you.

In any case, remember: confidence is appealing. If you try and remember all the good things about yourself, you will look better and feel better and when you worry less you actually lose weight more effectively (stress puts on weight, especially if you eat when you feel bad!, so it might be good to have someone to talk to about the personal problems you are going through too). Remember you are doing something about it and that you have friends for a reason - because you're a likeable, interesting person - and that's the most important thing.

Good luck :)

24 ounces of grapefruit juice a day (three 8oz glasses).

This will help you loose 4 lbs every 12 weeks...

I have lost weight using this method.

If you are looking for a fast solution this is not it...but it is easy, effective and beneficial in more ways than one. Besides getting lots of vitamin c, you will loose weight gradually, which means you won't have permanent flab to endure or have removed surgically.
This information I have obtained through an article in Men鈥檚 Health Magazine.

I wrote this next article to a gal on yahoo answers forum in an email:

Basically I just took the article I read in line at the market in Men's Health Magazine for what it was worth...face value..three 8 ounce glasses each day...no matter what kind or when....I can relate some stuff to avoid through experience...the stuff you might find in the can that you have to add water to thats frozen (called pink grapefruit juice)...avoid it...it's very bitter and not paletable at all...the best kind is the stuff in the half gallon carton in the refrigerated section of the supermarket...get Sunnyside Farms if you can...it's ruby red grapefruit juice from concentrate...but it's not too expensive...only about $2.50 a half gallon...some stores like Safeway only sell the squeezed stuff (ruby red as well) and it can get pricey...like $4.50+ a half gallon *shudders*....thats cool in a pinch...but I wouldn't stock up on it...grapefruit juice basically carmatizes your digestive system (makes things right) and supresses appetite in a manner that is beneficial/acceptable to the human condition in my experience/opinion...but that doesn't mean one needs to throw common sense out the window and continue to eat things like burgers etc. in excessive amounts...try to eat lighter...with grapefruit juice you will find this can be accomplished in a comfortable manner...I would suggest to drink as much of the stuff as you can (over 24 ounces per day if you feel comfortable with it)...this is one case where it seems more is better....good luck..

I think you should consult a doctor about this. They 'll know exactly what to do.

Have you tried Dr. Phil's plan? It's a life change, not a diet. Go to www.DrPhil.com and take a look. There are message boards and everything. He can really help. You can write to him to, for personal help. Good luck!

dont make ureself feel so worthless...as long as ure still livin..ure not a looser...there is hope...and the possiblities of u gettin better are endless...coz ure still young...
it takes patience....smile...

You need to talk to someone about what has been happening and get every everything straightned out. I'm really sorry about what happened, my father almost died from MRSA and a heart attack before. If you wanna e-mail me I can surely help you and talk. my email is kulpbre@yahoo.com and I have yahoo and AOL instant messengers.

Best Wishes!!!!!!

You need to go under the care of a DOCTOR - the most successful weight loss programs are ALL under the direction of a physician. And do not "go on a diet" - change the way you eat, and what you eat. Try the "glycemic index diet" where food that is not absorbed quickly by the body is the primary source. You should also consider vegetarianism (but with fish for brain health) because you can eat a larger volume of food and have it contain less calories. If this does not work, you may want to consider one of the surgeries to "fool" your body into thinking that it is full. There are also new medical treatments other than surgery - "hoodia" is a plant that makes your brain think your hunger is more satieted is now available as a medicament. Above all else, get under the care of a physician - extremely sudden weight loss can be VERY dangerous. You will lose the most weight in the first part, and should lose about a pound a week or so after that. See a doctor, and best of luck to your success.

Based on your comments I KNOW you have NOT TRIED EVERYTHING, I know the following plan with take the stones off. I Lost over 2 stones in just 1 month by following this plan.

Start with LA Bomba

a 3 day plan to lose up to 10 pounds.

This is how and why it works

Try the G.I. Diet which is recommend by several heart surgeons in Canada and the US, as well as by the Canadian heart and diabetes organizations

You won't lose weight quickly but the loss will be healthy and permanent.

Essentially, the diet involves eating less insulin producing foods and thus you feel less hungry.

First, don't stress eat. That's where you're gaining all your weight (trust me, I know) second. The best and healthiest way to loose weight is to eat healthy and to exercise every day. I know it sucks but it works. Oh, and YOU HAVE TO STICK TO IT. Results don't just happen the day you start. That part sucks, I know. But its worth it. I've been working out and eating healthy for 3 weeks and I've lost 5 pounds each week. I know its not amazing but I feel so much better even seeing just 15 lbs off of my body. You have to respect yourself, and yes being stressed out and overweight is an aweful combo, but you just need some motivation. If your friends are truely your friends they will help you.
To loose weight you just need to follow 4 steps.
1.)eat healthy and exercise every day (you dont have to over do it. start small)
2.)stick to it.
3.)stick to it.
4.)STICK TO IT!

good luck!

OK, please stop you are breaking my heart. would you talk to your best-friend the way you are talking about yourself? you are going through some really difficult times and you can not beat yourself up. it is just not help-full. there are things out there that work. exercise would help the depression. now if you have tried and i do mean tried everything. Atkins, weight watchers, south beach , just cutting back whatever is out there and seriously nothing has worked then maybe you could look into a weight lose surgery. it is a tool to help people lose weight also. i myself tried everything and failed. my eyes where starting to get blurred vision, i had gestational diabetes, i couldn't breath with my asthma, i have two children i wanted to be around for so i went and had lap band surgery where they put a band on your stomach and you slowly lose weight. you will want to talk to your doctors and make sure they will help you decide what is the best option for you. please though don't beat yourself up. you are loved.

Girl I feel for you. First off, the way I do the math although it seems you are not slender, you are still very probably nicely curved. Just a bit TOO curved (in your opinion) in some spots is all. Next, take a good look at yourself and pick the best of yourself. Eyes? Smile? Hair? Legs? Make an effort to call attention to the best of yourself.
Diets. All of them - Atkins, South Beach, Dr Phil - leave you missing out on some essential nutrients. Consult your doctor before embarking on any of them please oh please. If you can persuade your GP to refer you to both a nutritionist/dietitian and a counselor, take all the help they will give you. I am in America with no NHS, and only a dim understanding of your NHS, but the "Alternative" medical fields can be highly effective if you have access to them. Acupuncture really does work when performed by a skilled practitioner. Sounds to me as if you need to revamp your life emotionally and physically. I personally would be more concerned about your self-image than about your weight. If your health is not limiting you, if you can still do things you enjoy, then get your head on straight first then worry about weight control. Heck, you don't want to lose a lot of weight suddenly anyway because not only can that be unhealthy but also new clothes are expensive. Now go find a mirror, smile at yourself and say something to yourself like "Hot Damm! I have great teeth!" and pat yourself on the back! Sure wish I had something magic and omnipotently wise to offer you, but this is the best I can do.

i have been giving this information to a lot of people who say they are having diet problems, so hopefully this helps you, but you also need to talk to people and a doctor can help you too, with finding a good diet plan that works for you but you have to be really dedicated. losing 1-2lbs a week is normal and healthy, any more you lose muscle not fat, and you do not want to lose muscle. . . try this it worked for me :)

make sure you are really dedicated, ask a friend who would be willing to work out, or already does, it is easier to workout with someone so that way they push you to the max and support you!

also make sure you eat breakfast!
some good breakfast ideas are
-fruit and cereal
-protein shakes
-smoothies and fruit
-granola bars and fruit
-oatmeal and fruit
-eggs(try not to use butter or oil use water to "grease" the pan)
-veggie omlet

***make sure you eat breakfast within an hour of waking up, and make sure portion sizes are small enough to keep you full for a couple of hours

mid morning snack- make sure you have a small snack within 2-3 hours after breakfast some ideas. . .
-a piece of fruit
-carrots,celeray with lowfat dip about 2tblsp
-nuts
-smoothie
*****this should be light just to hold you over until lunch*****

lunch should be within 2-3 hrs after mid morning snack
remember to keep it light and not heavy.
-turkey on wheat with lowfat mayo and lettuce and tomatos + a piece of fruit or vegetable + granola bar + snack sized bag of baked chips
-soup + salad, with low fat dressing + breadsticks

*make sure portion sizes are decent, no overdoing it*

mid-day snack is usually 2-3hrs after lunch
-vegetables with lowfat dip
-nuts
-fruit with lowfat yogurt
-cup of yogurt
-jello
-smoothie
-snack size bag of chips that are baked or pretzels

supper is 2-3 hrs after you eat your mid day snack
-chicken (3-4oz) and pasta (3-4oz) with reduce sodium tomato sauce
-soup + salad lowfat dressing + breadsticks
-meat (3-4oz) + pasta or rice or potatos + fruit or vegetables

**********PORTION SIZES ARE KEY***************
it is also better to eat 5 times a day then to skip a meal, if you skip a meal the food you eat next stays on your body as fat, so keep eating 5 times a day that way your metabolism is always going.

good luck

also try cutting back on soda/pop if you drink alot of that and sugar, try not to eat any of that because it just adds empty calories

also make sure you excersie at least 30 minutes a day and walk as much as possible

good luck!

First of all Neo, shut your mouth, you aren't helping.

OK, to the question.

From what I can see, your problem has nothing to do with your eating (it's a side effect of other issues). You need to get your head straightened out. I don't mean that in a nasty way but everything you have said indicates depression and low self esteem. I don't mean to sound like some freaky self help guy but your problems will seem less insurmountable if you can get yourself liking yourself and not resentful of others for something that isn't their fault.

My suggestion is finding a psychiatrist you like and trust, don't be put off if the first one isn't right, it can take a while to find the right one. Once you have found them (kinda like dating I guess) you can start to get to work on the issues that are making you act and feel like you do. It's a long process.

The biggest thing is see a psychiatrist, not a psychologist. Nothing against psychologists in any way, they are also highly trained professionals, they are just unable to prescribe medications if they are needed. If your therapist says you need meds, don't be afraid of it but also question it and find out why they think you do. I am on mild anti depressants and they have made a massive difference to my life.

It will get better, just remember that you aren't the only one that has gone through this kind of thing. Hang in there and get some help, you don't need to do it alone.

At the core it is a simple matter of burning more calories than you eat, but when you cut back, your body adjusts because it thinks food has become scarce, so it tries to use less energy. This makes it harder to loose weight. Sorry I don't have much advice, but use this knowledge to help you figure out what you are and aren't going to do!

If you will try anything how about trying to have a little self respect and stop over eating. SLOTH, GLUTTONY and GREED are deadly sins. OBESITY IS A SIN AGAINST GOD
