Private hospital, never changed my sister period pad,who can i see at the hospital about this 2mora,I'm fuming |
i dont no what to say or do 2mora when i go bac to the private hospital my sister is in i am fuming.my sister had her op today all went well,on arriving her 1st nurse got her ready for op,I told her my sister was on her periods,no problem thats fine, she told theatre staff about my sister being on her periods, which was fine with them, great i thought,4hours later my sister came back to her room, she was very drowsy still, different nurse now nurse number2,which she would now stay with my sister untill moring now,it was a waste of time me staying over my sis was still drowsy and i knew one to one nurseing she would be fine, before i went i told nurse2 that my sister wants her pad changing, cause its not been changed since she came back from theatre,i will do it soon,1hour ago i phoned to see how my sis was doing, which i was told that they had just changed the bed and my sister jarmas, why theater never put a pad on er after the op,blood all over,so after i left you never changed er,she said no iv just spoken to my sister, she told me that after i went home, she rang the bell for a nurse, cause she felt wet down below,nurse2,got a shock blood all over the bed,the hole bed needed changing and i did she told me,theater never put a pad on me after the op,and nurse2 didnt change me until i rang the bell, can any one tell me is this neglect to someone who has just had an op? we went private to aviod this from happening, i really dont know what to do can someone advice me please, I would find out who the medical director of the hospital is and write them a letter and explain the situation. Just make sure you check your spelling. Continue to check up on her. If this kind of things continue I would contact a lawyer and see what can legally be done. It's really bad that nurses are careless. Though they may attribute it to workload. I have sympathy for you n your sis. call the head nurse. and tell the director of the hospital They dont - my mum broke her back and had a tampon in for 2 days. As a daughter, I had to remove this (really not the best) but it was my mum. This is life. There has to be a Director of the place. Find out who the top dog is and complain like hell! Threaten to, even if you don't mean it, to get a lawyer involved. That get's them moving abit. We had the same problem with my Mother in a nursing home, only with a depends (diaper like thing) not being changed and she was totally soaked though to her clothes. Also, if you can buddy up to someone there who visits another patient, you can help each other by checking to see what's going on when your not there. We found that very helpful too. Good luck and take care. lucky you my misses stark naked on nhs ward on visiting time nobody could be bothered putting the curtain round her I have had a lot of experience with hospitals - close relatives who were in for prolonged periods of time. There is very little communication among all the medical personnel. The night nurse typically knows very little about what happened during the day. You can tell an attendant 10 times you need something and it doesn't happen. You wait for hours for a doctor who doesn't show up. We learned to just push, push, push. And when that didn't work, we just learned to do stuff ourselves. But one thing that usually works - tell the nurse on duty that you need to talk to the doctor about your sister's care. In your case, you need to tell them you have "serious concerns about the potential for infection due to the unchanged pad." That should get them moving. I'd have changed my sister's pad, cleaned her up and then complained. First, talk to the head nurse, Ask her who does she report to, tell them what has happened.,then go back and take care of your own sister.if you care about her. Expect no one to take better care of your family members than you can, then do it. I know for a fact that once the hospital staff gets the notion that you don't believe they can do a better job than you, they will be all over your sister, fluffing pillow, changing linen, the whole works. this is an awful situation. we went to a private hospital as well, and found that some nurses were careless - you shouldn't put up with this as you must have paid alot of money for the medical care. You should complain to the head nurse as well as the top head of the hospital. what theater is doing this?? what a bloody mess!! |
