This can get dangerous. You need medical evaluation, like it or not. Superman died because of complications of a bedsore, of all things, so it's not something to fool around with.

Keep pressure off of it, keep it clean and dry, turn the patient frequently, watch for signs of fever or any other changes, and you might want to try 'natural' aloe vera for it.

I still have to say seeing a doctor is the safest thing to do...good luck.

Keep it Clean, Put some Crisco or Vitamin E cream, put a dressing on it to relieve pressure from that side.

Turn the person every 2 hours. and do what the first two girls said to do. If it gets too serious, see a physician.

How bad is the sore? Is it just red, or is it actually a tear in the skin revealing tissue?

I would take a multivitamin to aid in healing and turn the person off of the affected side like the others mentioned. Do not stay on one side for more than 2 hours without resorting to a different position. Keep the area clean and bandaged up w/ sterile gauze. If it is deep, however, you'll have to get medical care which may include debridement or something.
