Gift advice....quick!!!?

Okay, I need to send some kind of gift to a boy in the hospital with special needs. He is 24 and won't like anything 'kiddie', but he loves construction trucks/equipment, music, movies, pictures. I don't want to send him flowers because he can't enjoy them and he doesn't eat so I can't send him a candy/food basket. Any ideas of something I can order that can be delivered today or tomorrow? I have no idea where to start!

Also, he doesn't read at all but he does like to look at books with pictures of trucks and stuff. He doesn't write or color or anything like that either.

Well, you answered your own question. A book on trucks or something of that nature, or a good movie on DVD would be great. As a mother of a son with special needs, my son does not read either but wow! does he know everything about sharks!! You might find out what kind of music he likes and get a CD too. It's not hard. Even tho he's 24 doesn't mean he won't like anything juvenile. My son is 30 but has the mentality of a 10 yr old, so I gear things for him in that range. It works.

A Tonka truck?

Get him a movie about demolision or something... you could get him a CD if he has a player - dont know how much you want to spend... if you got lots of $$ and ipod

Get him one of those light sabers. They're hella-cool.

Contact his guardian / case manager for advice. Also the guardian may be able to purchase and deliver the gift in your name after you make arrangements to purchase.

coloring book

how about lego's there are some really cool kits you can get......like star wars and stuff

How about a nice pop up book? Here are a few to look for that are truck related. Here is one to look for:

Truck Jam: A Pop Up Book (Hardcover)
by Paul Stickland

Or a book that has sounds? Here another one for you.

Big Noisy Trucks and Diggers (Board book)
by Caterpillar

Amazon.com has some great Photographic journals and Picture books on Caterpillar Earth Moving Equipment; and you could get overnight delivery if you are willing to pay for it. They are not "kiddie", but coffee table type high quality glossy photo journals.
Good luck.
