Universal Healthcare?

-If anyone has seen the movie SiCKO they will understand this question, but if they haven;t let me explain. All of the countries in the western world have FREE medical covergae that comes from tax payer dollars except for the US.

-Would you be willing/wanting a healthcare system that denies NOBODY?

-In England the only cash registers in the hospitals are to REIMBURSE YOU FOR the travel expenses you had to go throught in order to reach the hospital!

-In France the government supplies a part time nanny FREE OF CHARGE to working/single moms.

Please tell me your thoughts about a healthcare system that benefits the greater good.

I think that this country needs to have universal health coverage just like every other country does. I would love to be able to go to the doctor without paying these crazy amounts of money just to walk through the door. Me and my family wouldn't have to worry about going into bankruptcy if one of us has to go to the hospital to have surgery.

I think any universal healthcare program would need the government to sit back and shop out the creation and management of the health insurance products to HMOs.
I've seen what happens when our government tries to do this itself ------> Medicare. It's a scary thing. Report It

Belzetot your a douchebag canadain, that was the worst analogy i've ever heard i think ever. Your system sucks and you know it, get off your knees and stop blowing Canada Report It

Well, poor people already get coverage--from the taxpayers. I think it would benefit the middle class who have to pay about 500 dollars per month to have insurance. I just got laid off and to keep my insurance I will have to pay about 1300 which I cannot afford.

I live in Canada, and even though our system isn't perfect, I can't image getting rid of our universal health care. It's almost like asking to go back to the days of horse and buggy. Even conservatives are firmly behind it.
