Mystery Ilness?

am 17years old and recently I was taken to hospital. After eating fruit salad (apple orande, pineapple, bannana etc...) I started to feel a little strange(dizziness, panickiness) so I went to my school's medical centre. At first the nurse thought it was an allergic reaction, and so she kept an eye on me for 30mins and gave me piriton.

Aflter 30mins I felt dizzier and 'stranger'. She measured my pulse and it was 92, 5mins later it was 102, I started to hyperventilate and felt it a little difficult to breathe. She called an ambulance and they gave me hydrocortisone and an oxygen supply. I was taken to hospital , I was feeling fine but my blood pressure was high so I stayed there longer.
Also the nurse claims that she saw very feint redness on my chest, but I have spots on my chest naturally anyway. (so, i'm not sure). In the end they couldn't figure out what it was and they just discharged me.My normal pulse is 82. I am healthy, I do not have any medical problems.

It wasn't an anaphilaxis shock because my blood pressure would have gone down not up.

If it was store bought fruit salad it may have had artificial allergens.

School nurses are ussually more dangerous then the illness. She gave you piriton which is used for hay fever, nettle rash and insect bites. Only rarely is it used for food allergies.

Before the medicine you could have had a panic attac, but piritone probably increased the symptoms.

Here is the shocker, side effects of piriton are:
Drowsiness
Dizziness
Blurred vision
Difficulty concentrating ('stranger' feeling)
Headache
Loss of appetite
Awareness of your heart beat (heart palpitations)
Abnormal heart beats (arrhythmias)
Wheezing or difficulty in breathing
The side effects listed above may not include all of the side effects reported by the drug's manufacturer.

Whoever manned the EMC was not very smart either. Hydrocortisone (or hydrocortisol) is only given when there is a confirmed lack of that hormone in your system. Hydrocortisone is one of the steroid hormones produced by the adrenal gland (adrenal cortex) which plays a complex role in regulating body functions and without which survival would not be possible. Hydrocortisone Tablets are taken as a replacement for the natural hormone where this is deficient either because there is a primary failure (or insufficiency) of Hydrocortisone production by the adrenal cortex gland (Addison鈥檚 Disease) or adrenal failure (or insufficiency) results from a pituitary deficiency of ACTH (the hormone that stimulates production of Hydrocortisone by the adrenal gland). Replacement therapy is also required for people who have a congenital adrenal hyperplasia (a birth defect) or in cases where surgical removal of the gland (adrenalectomy) has been performed.

lol, you know alot about this, why dont you tell us? Maybe you have diabetes? The food you ate probably had alot of sugar, and it made your pulse go up, it definitely wasn't allergies cause you said that you had no shock. so thats what im guessing. Either that or you had gone a long time without eating anything, or maybe the food was rotten.

Sounds almost like a panic attack. I have them all the time for no particular reason.

Talk to your doctor about it.

tell your doctor the you want to get tested for diabetes, and get a full exam and all kinds of testings.
