My doc Say's i have prostatitis?

how long does it take to get relief, Iv'e been on antibiotics for 4weeks and I only feel better for a couple of days and then it comes back in full force. My symptome are frequent urintion and lower ab pain and some pain at the end of my penis. Should i request a speacialist?

Chronic or recurring prostatitis would make me worried about a possible underlying problem. While I'm sure your physician is quite competent, I'm getting the sense that you are concerned that you don't seem to be getting better (and rightly so!). Some of your symptoms are consistent with a bladder infection. You didn't state what type of exams or tests you have had. Please consider seeing a urologist for peace of mind if nothing else. Good luck and good health.

Prostatitis is usually cured very quickly with proper antibiotics. You may need to see a urologist.

yes you should have felt better in a week. Go back and see the doctor again and dont delay...You need stronger antibotic..

antibiotics normally work but your condition might be difficult to treat if there's combined inflammation and antibiotics sometimes have a hard time getting into that specific spot so it can take some while to get it cured. you should see a specialist and they may use stronger antibiotics, may do a prostate massage to try and release some of the infection (have heard it done but not sure if that would work or be beneficial so don't do it yourself see the doctor). Also in general make sure you are drinking enough fluids to keep the waterworks functioning
