MRSA is a growing disease, an infection that is resistant to antibiotics. Has anyone found relief?

I have been suffering for 4 years-used to do IV drugs, caught it as a secondary infection(most people do) I am sober now for 2 years, and I still get major break-outs-esp. on my face. I have tried everything and am waiting fo rthe new rug to come out, maybe from Scotland? Who else inderstands the social stigma and embarrasment, not to mention extreme health concern?

There are drugs for MRSA. I am not sure in what form you are suffering at present. If you have colonised your nasal flora with bacteria .... and if the bugs are still responsive to mupiromycin a course of 5 day nasal ointment can help

Drugs like vancomycin are reserved for serious infections.

Have you tried Linezolid? It is effective against MRSA.

I am not sure what social stigma there is against MRSA, it is a pretty common bacteria now days. I see it a lot in oncology patients with compromised immune systems and frequent hospitalizations.

MRSA is a very dangerous infection. Your doctor should take blood and have it cultured to make sure that is what you have. After confirmation of the bacteria, more tests should be run to see which antibiotics are susceptable to the disease. If your doctor hasn't done these things, you need to find a doctor that will. Usually Vancomycin is used for MRSA.

HELLO SUZANNE,
MRSA (METHYCILLIN RESISTANT STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS) IS A VERY SERIOUS BACTERIAL INFECTION. THERE ARE NO COMMON ANTIBIOTICS THAT CAN BE USED FOR THIS DISEASE.INTRAVENOUS VANCOMYCIN IN A HOSPITAL CAN BE USED TO FIGHT IT.
HAVE A DOCTOR TEST YOU TO BE SURE IT IS MRSA.
