Ya wanna know what is going on with me that is scary about my health? |
I got my wisdom teeth pulled & cut out about 2 weeks ago. All 4. I got a really bad infection where a huge abscess grew in my neck and they had to drain it out. I was in the hospital for 5 days cause they had to put an IV antibiotic in my arm. Finally, i went home on oral top notch antibiotics. I had a tube left in my throat where the infection can drain and when it finally stopped, i had it removed. Now i have puss & blood coming out of my neck and im scared. The oral surgeon (whos the best in the state) said i will be okay cause it is coming out instead of staying in and to go the emergency room if it gets bigger or if i get another fever. Also said the antibiotics will clear it up in due time. Does that sound right? I am healthy young active girl who never had any health issues. It has been so scary for me. What do you think? has anything like this happened to you? I would think since ive been on this antibiotic for almost 2 weeks it wouldve cleared up by now. It is natural and healthy to be scared. Trust on the pros! but always let others know your doubts. Your health belongs to you so you must be sure your doctors understand your concerns. If you still have some other doubts.. ask other doctors for opinion (maybe some friend, relative, etc). no but i've had my fair share of hospital visits.. (i have a cleft palate), but hopefully you get well soon. good luck. I think I would get a second opinion from your doctor, just trust your doctor, Honey & keep a good watch on it. If it show signs of re-infecting, do as he says. The pus has to finish draining out & the hole will gradually fill in from the inside. you'll be fine again, soon! You should talk to your doctor or surgeon and tell them that you're not 100% only they could have the right answers for you. yea thats wierd.........eww...must really suck.. Sometimes it can take 6 to 8 weeks before it will clear up so dont panic, you are definetly on the road to recovery. Just take it easy and let your body heal before jumping back into your normal daily activities. I feel for you I had a difficult time when my wisdom teeth were pulled a few years ago. The worse thing you can do is stress. Just take it slow and things will be back to normal in no time. Do warm and cold compressions on your mouth before bedtime and try not to be on your feet for long periods of time. Eat soft foods such as yogart, and pudding and soup. Dont suck fluids out of a straw because you may have a risk of devloping dry socket, which is very painful. I hope things clear up for you soon. Jusy hang in there, take care. good luck !!! well, take your medicine and hopefully it'll get better. the pus means infection, but if its coming out it means it is draining. if it lasts longer, go to the doctor right away. If they cant help, go to the hospital. |
