Ensuring medication/procedures you've declined won't be administered during surgery while you're unconscious?

I'm going to have a planned orthopedic surgery on my foot later this year. I had a similar surgery ten years ago and they gave me IV antibiotics as a preventative measure. This time I plan to decline any prophalactic antibiotics for medical reasons and want to make sure they don't sneak something into my IV when I'm unconscious. Last time I could have died because the nurse tried to give me one I'm allergic to, luckily I woke up and caught her just in time. What are some precautions I can take to ensure they don't administer something against my will?

First, ensure that they have records of your allergies.

Second, prior to even going into the operating room, please make sure that the medical staff from doctors to nurses are aware of your wishes.

Third, have your wishes notarized, make several copies and place a copy on the front page of your chart (prior to surgery).

Hahaha! Thank you anyway. Report It

normally medical teams makes a history of patients and accordingly administered medicines to them . in u r case seems to be major neglience on part of medical team.

thanks god u gain the conscious well in time otherwise some thing really would be happened wrong. be cautious and see that this time they should handle better .
