Ensuring medication/procedures you've declined won't be administered during surgery while you're unconscious? |
I'm going to have a planned orthopedic surgery on my foot later this year. I had a similar surgery ten years ago and they gave me IV antibiotics as a preventative measure. This time I plan to decline any prophalactic antibiotics for medical reasons and want to make sure they don't sneak something into my IV when I'm unconscious. Last time I could have died because the nurse tried to give me one I'm allergic to, luckily I woke up and caught her just in time. What are some precautions I can take to ensure they don't administer something against my will? First, ensure that they have records of your allergies. Hahaha! Thank you anyway. Report It normally medical teams makes a history of patients and accordingly administered medicines to them . in u r case seems to be major neglience on part of medical team. |
