IV meaning antibiotics usually for three days post operative if it is only appendicitis then to change to oral antibiotics a couple of days = 24-48 hours Depends on what antibiotic they are using. Some for as long as two weeks. You're usually off after two days. If you contracted an infection during or immediately after the surgery, then it is up to the doctor. |
