I cant breathe to well, iv been to drs but its useless whats next?

iv had inhalors, antibiotics, steroids but it still hurts to breathe i feel like iv only got half a lung at times. im breathing really shallow. im off back to the drs again tomorow but what else can he do?can he give me any thing else? somtimes i cry . im a non smoker ironicly. im in uk

Get rid of all the artificial air freshners, chemical cleaners, perfume etc from your home. Sounds as though you have developed sensitivity. Would probably help to invest in an air purifier - they have one on offer at Lloyds for only 拢9.99 right now.

are you around smoke, chemicals, perfume... r there certain places and times that you don't have this.?? try to figure out if it's something from work or something your wearing perfume, shampoo, detergent, etc... good luck!

You need to see a pulmonologist...someone who will run respiratory checks on your lungs for breathing and lung capacity. Don't settle for someone telling you there is nothing wrong...doctors have been known to be wrong, and medicine is not a perfect science...I should know I'm a nurse practitioner.

Tell him you want a chest x ray

Have you been seeing a Pulmonary doctor or just a family physician?

See a Pulmonary doctor. You will have better results. They specialize in Asthma and other respiratory diseases.

First of all,
How old are you?
Have you had an accident or fallen lately?
Have you had xrays done?

If your current doctor isn't giving you answers or helping you, go to another one. It never hurts to have a second opinion.

Sorry about your illness. Do you have a cool mist "humidifier" around that would help adding more moisture to your room ,to ease the drying effects of the oxygen ? Can you call your MD for some pain med's or take your self to the hospital,so you can get some relief ? In the "states" we go to the ER when we have breathing problems, especially at night, when things really DO get worse.I guess it's early am in the UK,7pm here,I would go to the ER and get sorted out. Take care. SW RNP

So, do the docs treat you as an asmatic or someone with severe allergies? Perhaps they can give you a portable oxygen tank. If the atmosphere where you live, walk and work etc. is loaded with allergens, busses, too many carbons in the air you should wear a mask when you are outside. As for inside your home, get rid of anything, and I mean anything you can't throw in the washing machine. Wash your bedding more often, don't leave clothes lying around, get rid of your animals, cats, dogs, birds, get hypoallergenic pillows. Use silk pillowcases instead of cotton, less dust can collect in silk, it's also better for your hair, less abrasive. If you have stuffed animals, give them to your dry cleaner or get the dryer activated dry cleaner bags at your market or common goods stores... and most of all tell your doctor or doctors how bad you feel. good luck and hope you start to feel better.

ASK YOUR DOCTOR TO REFER YOU TO A SPECIALIST

Ask him if he would send you to a chest specialist, and let
him know how worried you are. Tell him how depressed
you are as well ,maybe your doctor didn't know how you really felt. If you feel you can't do that write out a letter
explaining how you feel and just hand it to him. He will appreciated that so don't hold back in your letter.
I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you feel better soon.

Do you have asthma? Is that why your doctor gave you inhalers etc? Also, do you have Anxiety? I have Anxiety and if you have anxiety it can make you hard to breathe and hurts to breathe. What are the other symptoms you are experiencing? Other symptoms of Anxiety is heart palpitations, throat feeling like you can breath and choking.

A lot of these answers are correct. You may need to see a speciality doctor. Most have said a pulmonary doc however, you may want to see an allergist. It sounds like asthma to me and allergists are better at treating asthma. Good luck.

Im sorry, if I had those symptoms Id be taking myself off to the emergency room! Those symptoms are certainly serious enough to warrant it, and it is entirely possible that you may have a pneumothorax which requires immediate treatment.
I am an asthmatic. I am also carer for my emphysemic mother in law and Ive had 2 pheumothorax.

it all depends on what the doc says you have, like ashmea, or emphocimea or cronic bronkcices. then u can go down one road and find solution faster. sorry for the bad spelling, but i cant find the spell check at the moment tks brian. bye the way i have all three for years and i am doing ok.
