Someone help me with this one I am stumped!?

Alright I went to the dentist two weeks ago and had my back right molar extracted. A few hours later I started getting a sore throat and severe pain in my right ear. I was given Vicodin for the pain and sent home. The next morning I still had a sore throat and my ear was aching badly. I got up and took two vicodins at like 5 im the morning and went back to sleep once the pain subsided a little bit. I called the dentist later that night and he put me on an antibiotic. Now I am really sick. I had to go to the hospital Sunday night and they gave me steroids and some IV fluids and had to give me two breathing treatments. I cleared up and came home. I went to see my doctor on Tuesday and he gave me a different antibiotic this is now about 1 1/2 weeks later. I have lost my voice and am feeling so lousy that I can hardly function because I am so sick. I went back to the doctor today and he gave me an asthma inhaler and said that I have asthmatic bronchitis do you think all of this

you think that all of this is connected since I got sick and had all the pain within a few hours of having the tooth extracted. There was a small bubble around it which has now gone away and i had to go on Thursday to have what the dentist said was bad tissue around the tooth. He numbed me up and pulled it all off. I have been having to go back every other day to have the extraction site packed with guaze and clove oil. Do you think that I had an infection in the tooth when he pulled it and this is what is making me so sick? I really need an answer. Thank you in advance and God Bless.

It sounds like you are presently undergoing treatment for a dry socket and infection.

If you now have asthma, I suggest that this is merely a coincidence and probably unrelated to your extraction. Things happen, you know.

Some people have stress-induced asthma. You may have had this underlying condition for a while, but your extraction was the first stress that was great enough to induce the asthma.

Sorry. It's been two weeks and I am a day away from you. There is no way I could even guess if it was infected when you had it pulled. Report It

You may want to get a second opinion. You May have had a bad reaction to one of the pain killers or medications the DDS gave you. You may think of going to a larger hospital. could have been an infection in your tooth and when in your blood stream. You should really check out a 2nd opinion

please try to see a shrink

Because of your problem which I do NOT know about...but other conditions I do! The one thing that I would STRONGLY suggest, which I have done, Go to another Doctor and get a SECOND opinion. Your insurance has to pay for it. Get your records or have them request them from the hospital and the dentist. Something just does not sound right and a Second view in in order. In the meantime, should you have additional problems, go to the hospital. Take care. I wish I could have been of more help, but ... Deb

It could be the Clove Oil......
"When applied to the skin or inside of the mouth, clove can cause burning, loss of sensation or painful sensation, local tissue damage, dental pulp damage, higher risk of cavities, or sore lips. Undiluted clove oil has a high risk of causing contact dermatitis (rash) and even burns if applied to the skin at full strength"

Mmmm, hard to say. It could be totally unrelated and just pure coincidence and I'm not sure that you will ever know the answer to this question.
