Post-Op complications??? |
Almost 2 weeks ago i had my four wisdom teeth extracted. Not this weekend, but the last weekend, I noticed I had a rash (little red bumps) on my chest. Could this maybe be an allergic reaction to the IV sedation? This is what my mom thought, but i figured that it would have shown up earlier. The rash isn't ichy or irritating at all. Today, I noticed it is on my back also, then, tonight I was in the shower and noticed that it had spread downward on my breast. It's not bad where it spread. Could this be a reaction? I havent change my diet or anything. I just got done taking my antibiotics. I wasn't taking the perscribtion pain pills so they told me to take 2 Tylenol and 2 IbProfen together without the side effects. What do you think it is? my thyroid? I'm not too nervous about it, just a little concerned. if it keeps up like this I will go to the doctor. O yeah, I have been taking a clairitian 12 hour once a day now for two days. is there a need to call my dentist and tell him that i get a reaction to the antibiotic. i'm through with the medication now, and the rash isnt getting ichy, and no other side effcts. should i just play it by ear and see in a couple of days? taking clairitian, will this help instead of Benadryl? From the way you describe the rashes, it definitely sound like you have a severe ALLERGIC reaction to the antibiotics. Antibiotics are notorious for doing that as a side effect. You can take OTC Benadryl for that rashes. Be on the look-out for any anaphylactic reaction that aside from the rashes or hives ( urticaria- itchy rashes) ; you might have laryngeal edema or swelling; thus causing respiratory problems such as SOB or wheezing. In that case, you have to go immediately to Emergency Room for some steroids. The rashes have nothing to do with your thyroid. The rashes indicate hepatoxicity and idiosynchratic drug reaction. It could be a side effect from the Antibiotic. Most antibiotics have rashes as a side effect. I took one for 7 days and not until day 6 did I get a rash. Could be a side effect from your meds. Did you read the information sheet that came with your meds? Did you call your pharmacist and/or doctor and enquire of them? I got a rash over my whole body after the 5th day of taking an antibiotic. I had to be on prednisone for 5 days to get rid of it. |
