My IV drip needle has left a bruise at the site of the needles entrance, is this normal? There are several reasons that an IV site might bruise. The most common is damage to the vein. The most common example is when the IV needle passes completely through the vein and then pulled back into the vein where it flows. Blood leakage from the extra hole vein causes a bruise. It will heal in time. For some. Depending how long it was in and what was infused and what size it was. not super sure but I got a bruise at the entrance site too when I had to go to the doctors and get my blood tested its usually not supposed to happen but they said it was fine Yes, it is. It'll fade and eventually disappear completely. Hi; Yes, this happens often. It will eventually fade. |
