HELP with MIGRAINES? |
ive been in three different hospitals in the past 3 weeks for a migraine i can't get rid of ive never had any one like this before u name it we tried it depacon infusion dhe reglan benadryl nortyrpaline depakote pills and i can't get rid of it ive had a cat scan mri mrv and a spinal tap and they keep coming back negative. I don't know what to do but i told my doctor i can't deal with this pain anymore im ready to off myself. If someone has any idea what test or treatment i can do plz help! i live in albany ny i went down to the city (specifically the bronx) and was in montifure hospital for a week and then saw the headache specialist and they all did the same they don't know what else to do (oh ive also done dekadron a steriod (iv) and nothing im beggin you guys if you can help in anyway i would really appreciate it, thanks in advance try either physical therapy or chriorpracter (spelling? the back doctor). I had migranes related to stress and tension and by making my neck muscles less tense, it helped. Also, I get 4 types of headaches: eye headaches (fixed by getting new glasses), tension headaches (ibuprofin and therapy), hormone headaches (just live will till PMS is done), and hight blood pressure headache (now taking pills to control it). so, maybe get your health checked out, not just your head. I'm not sure if this would help with migraines but I get pretty bad headaches and found online that a good way to get rid of them is drink 2 glasses of gatorade. I know it sounds funny but I think it's the electrolytes or something and it does work! I know you must hate taking all those medications ...I know I do. That's why I was reasearching on alternative ways to get rid of them. It's worth a try! I'm sorry I couldn't help you more. Good luck! Ask your MD to prescribe you Imitrex. just to back up another person's answer - I started going to a chiropractor because of a hip injury that was giving me back pain. it not only solved my back pain and leg pain but I've had barely any headaches sense I went. I was prone to frequent migranes before. i feel your pain...the same thing happened to me...i had a migraine for three weeks as well...i took every medication you listed and went thru the same procedures....only for them to come back negative...what they didn't tell me was that by taking those medications back to back like that was actually causing my headache to get worse...it was a compound headache which mimics the symptoms of a migraine...try cutting back on the amount of medication u take and take them less frequently...also try being in a silent, dark room as i know u r probably sound and light sensitive...wat works for me is when i see those auras (those blue or white bursts of light) i take something to prevent or lessen the damage...i hope this helps...if not then ask your doctor to refer you to a neurologist so that you can get a second opinion. another thing you may wanna check is your eyes, as this can lead to migraines since you may be straining them... gud luck!! One of the newest things that is out there and is very sucessful on SOME PATIENTS is to use a "cold helmet" The only painmedication that has ever worked for me is Ibuprofen. This of course is the 800mg. which you have to have a doctor prescribe. What I do with out taking medication is go into my room shut the lights off turn the T.V. down close my eyes and clear my mind of every thing that has been going on. Get checked for this: this situation sounds exactly like my ex father-in-law's ordeal Ice yourself down on your head. forget the ERs for the time and visit your family doctor. you will need blood tests, a CT scan, and/or a MRI to rule out any disease which may cause the migraines. If you want to prevent further migraine, you should go for a one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax - it's simply amazing, but not available anywhere in the world yet. See a chiropractor and massage therapist. |

I feel your pain. It's awful when you can't seem to get on top of it... The best solution I've found is "nerve blocks". I live 2 hours north of Toronto, Ontario, Canad... Congrats on the six years. I hope I can say that someday. I am only on round 2 and I am so tired that I can barely get up some days. I have lots of sores. Even in places I shouldn't mention.... |
