Use 15gtts/cc IV tube.Give 125 mg SoluMedrol IVPB in50cc over 90min.How many gtt/min would u run the infusion?

Break it down into its simplest parts, there's information in there you really don't need that will just confuse you.

bottom line...you want to infuse 50cc over 90 minutes (50 divided by 90) which = 0.55 cc per minute (let's say 0.6 to round it off).

You have tubing that delivers 15 gtts per cc...so now divide 15 by 0.6 (remember, 0.6 is how many cc's you want per minute) which = 9 gtts (approximately) per minute...this will give you a smidge more than 50 cc in a 90 min. period, but it's close enough.

Edited to add: If you don't round things off...you'll need 8.25 gtts/min (if you calculate it at 0.55cc instead of 0.6cc)

See...easy if you break it down.
