During an iv infusion of Zenapax (daclizumab), the nurse forgot the filter until almost all the med was in...?

Are there any potential problems from this? What is the importance of the filter for this type of injection?

Zenapax has a short "shelf-life" once diluted before administration and should be inspected for particulate matter or discoloration of the solution.
The product insert does not specify that it must be administered with an in-line filter, but facility policy may do that as a precaution.

doh鈥?ok, so there is a way to ask, sorta... kinda vague bout the "feedback" thing :) Good to know filter is not req鈥?for this med; wondering 'bout the precautions. (definitely mixed right beforehand... have to wait for pharmacy to mix it after the blood work is done) Report It
