What are the potential problems if, during an iv infusion, the filter is forgotten until most of the med is in

The medication is Zenapax (daclizumab).

Not sure about the whys on filters... think it may be for meds that have to be disolved or mixed before injection (I know this one does)

It would depend on the medication.

what filter? I have never had a filter on any IV I have had.

Because the meds are sterile!

where using IV set its either macro or micro without filter when were giving medication to our patient, it only varies on drops and we titer it. We used IV set with filter when we have blood transfusion to avoid blood clotting that will directly goes to vein. And there's a lot of drugs also that we directly inject on the port of the tube directly to the veins of the patient. So with regards to your question is more harmful if medicine given on wrong rout.
