I have just been to the midwive and i need 6 sessions of IV iron does anybody know anything about IV iron?

I have to go to hospital every other day to have an IV of iron for 6 sessions i am 37 weeks pregnant i already have had a B12 injection and 3 iron tablets daily and my iron and ferretin count is not shifftin i was wondering if anybody has any ideas why not? Yes i will speak to the doctors and midwive but i thought if i asked this you just never know I am in the UK

They give you Iron supplement by drip

Not really that infrequent, the needle probably was not put in/pulled out completely straight. (Can also depend on what was in the IV, same that you have had before?)

Would have thought that whoever gave the injection would have mentioned the prospect of any side effects. If your not happy about the pain consult your GP or whoever did the injection.
