I repeat: If a doc prescribes 3 pills...?

and you take them one everey half an hour. How long will the dose last? I do not mean what kind of pills, nor the effect in the body, not the name of the pills. That is not the question. The type of medication is not the matter, either. Could be, drops, ointment, IV, injection, etc. Is this clear?

Since all drugs leave our system at different rates, this is an impossible question to answer without more information. Is this clear?

You are so incredibly wrong when calling it a dose. What you really meant to say was PRESCRIPTION! Asking a clear question would really help! Report It

You'll be out of pills in an hour and a half

one hour.
say you take the first at noon, the next would be at 12:30, the last at 1:00.
dang, the others are reading to far into it. its not that hard.

It does depend on what the medication is. It determines the absorption rate and how long the dose will last.

You'll be out of pills.. whats ur point??

That's impossible to answer since the half life of all pills/injections/drops/IV/whatever are different and the effects on the body are different. Just because the medicine has been metabolized doesn't mean the effect on the body has changed.

theoretically they would be fast metabolizing to take that often so would assume that they were only good for half an hour.

an hour

The dose will last 1 hour, if you take one when you get them and then one every half hour after that.

one hour...you take one when you get them, at say 12:00...then one at 12:30....then one at 1:00...but you should really ask this way:

If the doctor gives you three pills and tells you to take one every half hour, how long until you have no pills?

It's not really about how long the dose last, but how long the PILLS last...

Take the first one now at 11:00 then your next one would be at 11:30, then at noon for the last one. so, the answer is An hour!

1 hour

You'll be out of pills in an hour:
Lets say:
1st at 3p.m,
2nd 3.30
3rd one will be at 4p.m

Daaah!!!! 1 hour

If you are trying to ask how long a prescription of 3 pills will last if the instructions say to take one every 30 minutes the answer is one hour. Say you start taking the medication at noon-1 pill. 12:30- 2nd pill. 1:00- 3rd and last pill.

If you are asking how long each pill will last in your system, it is impossible to answer since every medication is absorbed at different speeds depending on conditions. So without more info that version of the question is impossible to answer.

Now if I were to give an answer based on the info given I would GUESS that each dose would only last around 30 minutes. But this is just a best guess with the limited info given.

Is this a math question or a pharmacology question? That is NOT clear. I've never heard of anyone taking only three pills but half hour apart for anything. Sometimes patients are given a large dose of Azithromycin at the same time for Chlamydia, which is a sexually transmitted disease but should not have affected you brain function like this.
