What are the different types of syringes and IV tubings? How do one administer self-insulin injection? There are many different sizes of syringes. Many different styles too. The same can be said for IV tubings. They all vary depending on the intended usage. Insulin is injected into fatty tissue just under the skin most often on the inside of the thigh, or abdomen. A very small syringe, usually about 1cc, is used. A very fine gauge needle is utilized which minimizes the discomfort. Im not sure about differant syringes and IV tubings. BUT. to administer an insulin injection to ones self, you would do this in your stomach or outer thighs. Whichever you feel more confortable with, you would draw your insulin and grab between your index finger and thumb a bunch of your skin and fat. You then insert the needle and inject the insulin, let go of your skin, but leave the needle inserted, count to 4 seconds, and remove. |
