Ok so iv had my Laparoscopy now and im confused as to what went on?? |
i had not long been woken up and the surgon came round and told me that i have scare tissue on my fallopian tube and either its a blood clot or a ectopic pregnancy he then said i would like for you to go for a scan and come back in 4weeks.... Its a bit difficult to answer your question as I don't know the circumstances of your laparoscopy. If you were admitted as a day case for a diagnostic laparoscopy then it is extremely unlikely that you will have had a fallopian tube removed. It is much more likely that what was described to you was a reason why a fallopian tube was blocked. Get hold of the telephone number of your surgeon's consultancy through the hospital and make an appt to speak with him explaining that it was all a bit cloudy when you spoke with him at the end of your op. You will then be able to ascertain as to whether there was a need to remove the fallopian tube or whether the scan is to determine his next step. If you get no joy ask your G.P. to ask for info from the surgeon. My opinion is that you still have it. If he says you have scar tissue there, then you still have the tube. Whether or not the tube was removed should be in your medical records. Seems like if the nurse didn't know, she could have found out for you - geez. You can always call your Dr's or the surgeon's office and ask them to tell you. It beggars belief that surgeons come round and tell you things when plainly you are not fully awake. Please read the discharge certificate. read your discharge papers, or ask at your post op follow up |
