The nurse has a hard time getting blood or starting iv on me what can i do o make my vains better?

Drink plenty of water which will plump up your blood vessels. Then, as long as the nurse or tech can feel the vein, he or she should be able to get into it - even if it is narrow.

you may have been dehydrated....either that or the nurse was new at what she was doing!

drink a lot of water...usually its because of dehydration that the veins are hard to get. i would also recommend keeping your arm hanging at the side of the bed/chair so that the veins plump up more. but some people are just hard IV sticks and there's no much you can do.

it's 'veins', and some nurses just don't have the same skill in getting into them with a needle. You can help the process by drinking enough water so you have good volumes to make your veins plump up, but if one nurse has a hard time, request someone with more skill.

Not much you can do.
Skin thickness, plus connective tissue are all factors that make your veins less "easy" to stick.
