In the topic of intravenous therapy, which one is more accepted, aspirating or non-aspirating?

would there be any complications if air is introduced to the veins?

how could air in the intravenous line be prevented?

what are the advantages and disadvantages of having different IV lines in one site?

#1 you need about about 50cc air actually no complications if small air bubbles as they get absorbed. Only dangerous if given bolus( forcefully )
2# Most tubings now and IV pumps have monitoring devices but IV's via gravity but you must prime the tubing
3# Advantages -less invasive for the patient for many reasons
Disadvantage- potential for mixing wrong drugs
