My 6 year old had vomitting and diarrhea for 72 hours 2 weeks ago. He had been to the dentist 2 days before? |
He ended up dehydrated and they gave him an IV therapy and he did great. He went to the dentist again Thursday night and by Friday afternoon was sick again. Does anyone know if having dental work can get you sick? I have a call into doctor but just wondering if anyone has heard anything like this or if it is just a coincidence. It is just a coinicidence and has nothing to do with the dentist. Sounds like his immune system is weak and he needs a better multivitamin and needs a good anitoxidant supplement to build his health back up. He seems to be picking up every bug that comes along. Sounds like this is probably a coincidence but it's going to be hard to tell after the fact. It's probably a question you should have been asking at the time because he could have had a serious infection. Anytime your child is ill after a medical procedure you should always check the IV sites and the site of where the procedure was done, in this case the mouth for signs of inflammation or infection. However, being that it seems to have cleared up on its own, sounds more like he caught some bug than an infection. did you ask the family Dr to check and see if your 6 year old might be allergic to Novocaine=It.s a simple blood test=good luck It probably a coincidence, however, it is possible that the anesthetic used may be intolerable to the child's system. It is not a common reaction, and it doesn't sound like an allergic reaction. A true allergy will usually present with rash or hives. These symptoms sounds like the child has mercury poisoning. a lil odd mabe you should take him to a new dentist it could be due to nervs if hes a lil nervous of the doctor and what not |
