Anxiety ,panic fear of leaving home.?

I have clinical depression ,Anxiety , panic attacks & . Iv been to my doctor who had refered me to mental health and I have only got two options

One of the options are to take medication or i can be refered for psychological therapy.
When you have anxiety and panic you also have anxiety about starting medication i worry incase i have a adverse reaction and no matter how much they have talked to me about this i still fear taking medication.

If i have to go for psychological therapy or if they cant cure me then what do i do?.

I worry when i go out incase i need the bathroom and if i cant get to one when i am out i panic. I cant even sit down in a cafe and have a drink without having anxiety.

Even whe i am at home it comes on for no reason at all.

I do not know what to do anymore i just want to stay at home forever until my days are numbered.

Hey! I too have suffered from anxiety (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and generalised anxiety disorders) and have been diagnosed with Major Depression, so i know how you feel.

It sounds like you have panic attacks, these can occur without any cause or reason and can be very scary and difficult to manage. You may even develop a fear of getting a panic attack - it sounds crazy but its true. As for psychotherapy, i think it would be very beneficial for you. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and just go for it. I've been in cognitive behavioural therapy and am on two medications to control anxiety and depression and believe me, with therapy and medication it does help.

Are you going to see a psychologist? If so, have you spoken to them about your anxiety with taking medication. As for not getting cured - it is more that a one way street. By that i mean, you must be prepared to make a sacrifice, to face a few fears and be prepared to do some hard work if you want to over come this. You can't just expect medication and a psychologist to do all the work for you, you have to put in your very best too. I know it can be very hard and sometimes you can become overwhelmed. If that happens take a break, let yourself calm down and then try again. I know this is easier said then done - some days i want to kill myself....i won't go any further.

Perserverance and determination are very important in improving your life. Being cured is all about how much you are prepared to go through in order to be cured. It is hard but it is achievable. Talk to your psychologist about how you feel and see if you can both come up with strategies to help you feel more in control of your anxieties. It is not an easy road to walk down, but you don't have to walk it alone. Don't exclude people from your life, make sure you keep yourself busy - the busier you are the less time you have to think about how sad or depressed you feel. And please speak to your psychologist about your anxieties. I wish you the very best and hope that you feel better soon.

I think you need urgent help. Medication is not the answer. I found this for you which I hope will help you:

That is called Agoraphobia. I do suffer from anxiety and panic attacks myself about other things I will not mention. It is a very good idea to use a medication, like Zoloft or Risperdahl. It works very well. If I may sugest try therepy. It will really bring you to the sense that this is reality--eventually this fear of leaving home will subside. Getting a strep test would also be a good idea. It is imortant to know if you have strep throat because strep will increase anxiety. This is called Pandas.

im the same way right now but im getting better slowly. meds yes, coping skills yes. you are the early stages. i would love to help mail me back and im going t oget you back on the right track

You need to learn to control your anxiety/panic without meds, i used to have panic attacks really bad and was even on effexor and zoloft but the panic was still there. then i tried the linden method http://lindenmethod.net and i made a full recovery. it works great and I highly recommend it.

Don't worry i have the same thing as you have.It is called agoraphobia.I really recommend talking to a doctor and telling them you don't want to be on medication. It will only make you worse and you will more depress.Trust me i have taken medication for my panic attacks and it only made the attacks worse. It also made me open my eyes wide for some reason. What i did i just stayed at my house for a lot of months then my tbs worker takes me out every Thursday to go eat at a restaurant. That has made me feel more confident about leaving my house.Good luck dude..
