What can cause my ureters to be dilated?

I saw a urologist because I have been having extreme pain in abdomen and fever on and off for 2 weeks. She said that the CT scan revealed that my ureters are dilated and also said that she saw many bladder cells in my urine. I have to have a test done called an IVP she never said what can cause this, only that she was concerned?? I am really stressing over this, anyone have a clue?

It sounds like she is concerned that you have a urinary tract infection. An intravenous pyelogram (IVP) is an x-ray examination of the kidneys, ureters and urinary bladder that uses contrast materials and is not uncomfortable at all. I have had one done. They will put in an IV and inject iodine, and take an x-ray. Done.
Good luck, hope you feel better soon.
