I want to ask this question here. I went in for a CT IVP scan on wednesday this week?

2 weeks after I had my cytoscopy done at hospital for blood in my urine of and on seen and unseen for almost 1 year now hemoturia. Now since I have been getting my urine tests back they have all been sayng I have extreemly high epithilial cells in my urine and it showed in the cytoligy exam as well, it showed abnormal white cells near my bladder. Now I want to make this clear I do not have any UTIs or any infection or any cyts, or any bladder infection or kidney stones as I have been examined for them as this is what the doctors put to down to in the beggining. Now since I had the scan done yesterday and myh 3 urine jars which were done in the morning mid stream handed in to patholigy if there was something wrong would the hospital have contacted me by now? It was only done on wednesday and the specialist only comes in once per week on a friday which was today. I will have an appointment made for me within 2 weeks at the clinic by the hospital, but if it was cancer would they have

phoned me by now even though the specilist was only there today? Or if it was cancer would I be told at the clinic very soon? please help

Ok, first since you just had your scan done, you do have to wait for the radiologist to read it. Once they have done that, depending on what he sees on your scan he will call your dr and let him know the results. But it may take the radiologist a couple days to read it depending on his work load. Plus your specialist can give the radiologist a call and get the results. im pretty sure that as soon as they know, they will tell you.

also your dr should have done a ct scan along time ago. If this has been going on for a yr, after they did the initial work ups, they usually go for a ct. This way if anything looks funky, they can go to right to that area. Im sorry, but I would of def went to a different dr. I hope its nothing serious, and that this helps. Good luck!!

if they were checking for cancer they would have done a biopsy on the tumor or a CA 125 blood test...

If it is cancer they do not always get back to you immediately. They consult with specialists in the field to see which way would be the best way to proceed... And then they call you.
