Castor oil IVP test and vomiting?

I am getting an IVP test done tommorow
I just drank castor oil and I can't stand it at all I can't help but throw it all up.......Is it supposed to make me vomite or cause me diarehhia and can't i just drink a lot of water because there is no way i can drink it..
even thinking about it makes me sick

i must drink it with something clear like sprite or 7 up and such stuff ...and that is what i drank it with and i still vomit

Castor oil is a pretty harsh laxative. I'm assuming you wouldn't be doing it if you weren't told to...
It won't hurt you, but the resulting diarrhea won't be super pleasant. It shouldn't make you vomit, but it is a pretty repulsive thing to be doing, so that's not unheard of.

If you decide to continue (do what your doc says), the way to drink oil is to put it in orange juice. Yeah, it separates, but you won't taste it and you won't get as much of that sick greasiness in your mouth like you do when you take it straight. Plus, it's much more likely to stay down.

One last note, if you're absolutely done w/ the castor - olive oil is a perfectly acceptable substitute. Ideally, extra virgin, because that is the purest type, from the first pressing of the olives, instead of when they're really squeezing them to get the last drops out.

Castor oil is a laxative to clear the bowel, because of the taste you did not like it and vomited it, usually it does not induce vomiting, you need to call your doctor and tell him
