In what circumstances does an IVP test take over two hours? Does this mean kidney trouble?

I was sent for one yesterday and i was told it only is a 45 min test, my test lasted over two hours, I am now awaiting results, does anyone know if this means there could be a problem with my urinary tract or my kidneys?

I hate when uneducated people try to answer questions.

Most likely, the radiologist wanted "delayed" films because your kidneys were not emptying fast enough.

As far as results, they will have to come from the ordering physician.

It could be any number of things, like a stone blocking the ureter, slowing the flow from the kidney. You should be able to call your dr's office and get the results. It might take a while if you wait to hear from them. Report It

no probably just the health care provider didn't get it right. Don't worry, they would have told you straight away if anything bad was happening.
