Is there such an emergency medical device?

I am looking for a more technology-based emergency medical device other than a medical tag for my family member. What I want to find is something that can hold more medical information than just the medical tag can -- for instance allergies, medicines taken, recent surgeries, and what not. Anyone know of a electronic device like this?

It allows them to store all of their medical information on a USB drive. We were both concerned if they would be able to use it since it is more high tech, so we were pleasantly surprised when they had no problem. It does not require any software to be loaded onto their computer as everything is contained on the USB drive. It has a simple, elegant interface to load and view information. It even provides a way to secure the data in case they lose it.

Aside from providing my wife and I peace of mind that her parents will be okay if something were to happen when we are not around, she was amazed at the price, only $30.

the only problem with using something more advanced is who is going to be using it in an emergency situation. a paramedic or fire fighter isnt going to have a laptop to read such a device (usually). this could be useful to provide detailed medical history or a long medicine list, but for the allergies portion i would suggest a medical alert tag. you cant be certain that someone is going to be able to find a computer. all in all, rather than keeping a large folder of medical history a memory stick could be a lot more simple.
