What is this medical device called ? it' look's like a head band , 4 children?

at my childs headstart , there is a little bot that wheres a headband like thing , ithas a litte box neat the frot , top part , i'm pretty sure it some sort of medical device , he has has it own everyday , for over 7 months , im just curious to what it is , and what it dose ?

It's a cranial reshaper. He probably had a tough birth and his skull was 'pinched' by the pressure of birth. My son had one, and wore it for about 18 months. They have to wear it every day until the 'soft spot' fuses - after that, treatment is SURGICAL... so they try to get it resolved early.
