Are Medtronic Infusion sets & reservoirs considered durable medical equipment goods? Yes, all supplies that are used for insulin pumps should be billed at durable medical equipment. I struggled with my insurance company for quite awhile when they told me I needed to be ordering my supplies through Express Scripts. Express Scripts is a online pharmacy and they also said they would supply these items. When I pushed them for the supplies they could not supply them and agreed that they did not carry them. You may have to go to battle, but bottom line is they are durable medical equipment that cannot be supplied by pharmacies. infusion sets, cartridges, etc are all DME (durable medical) it shouldn't matter by brand.
